01Cedar Staining
Faded cedar brought back to a deep, even colour, using penetrating oil stains built for high country sun.
02Cedar Oiling
A refresh coat of penetrating oil before the cedar goes grey. The cheapest job you will ever do on your cladding.
03Cedar Restoration
Grey, peeling, tired cedar sanded back to fresh timber and rebuilt from bare. The full job, done once, done properly.
04Cedar House Washing
A soft chemical wash that lifts mould and grime without blasting the timber. The single cheapest thing you can do for your cedar.
05Cedar Maintenance Programme
We keep track of when your cedar is due, so you never end up with a restoration bill you could have avoided.
06New Build Cedar
Bare cedar starts weathering the day the boards go up. We get the first coat on inside the window that decides how the next twenty years go.
Reviews
In our clients’ words.
Bradley and his partner were excellent to work with. So obliging and did such a fantastic job. So easy to recommend and I will be using for any further work I need done. They did exterior staining on my property.

Cedar Staining · Lake Hawea · February 2026
Restoration, Albert Town
Uneven, greying cedar brought back to one warm finish.
This Wānaka home had weathered unevenly around the entry and its most exposed elevations. After a full exterior clean and careful preparation, we applied a penetrating stain to restore depth and warmth without losing the natural character of the timber.

Questions
The questions everyone asks about cedar
Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, send it through with a couple of photos and we will tell you what we would do.
Every 2 to 3 years on north and west facing walls, 3 to 4 years on sheltered elevations. The altitude and clear air here mean UV does more damage than most people expect.
Almost certainly not. The grey layer is roughly half a millimetre deep. Sand it off and there is fresh cedar underneath. Unless boards are cracked or rotten, it comes back.
Cedar and timber cladding is what we specialise in. Brad also runs Lakeside Painting, so if your job includes trims, joinery or a bit of exterior painting, it is all handled by the same family business — one quote, one point of contact.
It depends on the size of the house, how much cedar it has and what condition it is in, so we quote off your actual house rather than a rate card. We do a free on site diagnostic and your quote follows within a day, or send photos for a ballpark before anyone drives anywhere.
Wanaka, Albert Town, Northlake, Lake Hawea, Luggate, Cardrona and Cromwell as standard. We do take work in Queenstown and Arrowtown for larger jobs.
