One family, one type of work

How this came about

Brad has been painting for over 15 years, the last several of them here in Wanaka under Lakeside Painting. Over time more and more of the work turned out to be cedar, partly because there is a lot of it around the lakes, and partly because it is the work he is best at.

Cedar is not the same job as painting a house. The products are different, the prep is different, and the mistakes are much harder to undo. So rather than list it as one service among ten, we split it out. Lakeside Cedar only does cedar and timber cladding.

What you actually get

A family-run job from start to finish. Brad does the assessment, sets the spec for every elevation and signs the work off at the end. On the tools it is us, sometimes with extra hands we have trained on our system — the standard never changes hands.

We work with a lot of out of town and overseas owners, so photo updates through the job are standard rather than something you have to ask for. A good chunk of our work is holiday homes where the owner is not there to see it happen.

How we quote

Elevation by elevation, off your actual house. Your north wall and your south wall are in completely different condition and pricing them the same is how people end up paying for work they did not need.

Our quotes cover preparation of the weathered and flaking areas visible at the time of quoting. If more extensive coating failure turns up once prep begins, the extra work is treated as a variation and we talk to you before doing it. No surprises on the invoice.
